Best Western GB leads mid-market hotels.

One of Beacon's largest customer base, and sister company Best Western GB, has won the Best UK Mid-Scale Hotel Brand at the British Travel Awards voted for by the travelling public.

The independently owned and operated membership saw off competitors, such as Mercure and Warner Leisure, to win at the awards in London on Wednesday 26 November.

Best Western and Beacon CEO Richard Lewis said: “This is an incredible accolade. For our guests to place us at the top of the mid-market is fantastic recognition of the service and products Best Western hotels has to offer.

“We firmly believe we are leaders in our industry and for guests to agree and take the time to vote is humbling, thank you to all of those that did. We pride ourselves on striving for excellence and have some exciting developments ahead. Bring on 2015!”

The British Travel Awards (BTAs) are the only travel industry accolades voted for exclusively by the travelling public.

During the voting period more than one million consumer votes were cast making the BTAs the largest Award programme in the UK.

Shortlisted for the award were Mercure, Novotel, Warner Leisure and Coast and Country.
