beacon continually work with our suppliers to manage and reduce price increases for beacon members, negotiating annually at below market rate to support the stability of your costs.
Unfortunately, when it comes to duty we cannot manage nor control these increases and are as disappointed as you are with what was announced on 24th March at the budget. We will continue to work and negotiate with our suppliers to ensure any price increases are in line with market increases and that beacon customers get the best deal possible.
For example, with InBev and Molson Coors annual increases in 2010, we have negotiated that beacon customers will only receive 70% and 60% retrospectively of the WSP increase which direct customers trading with them receive.
Attached is a duty calculator we have produced to help you calculate the effect that the recent budget duty increase which will need to be reflected in your pricing. To help with this rather complicated process we have been able to create a duty calculator to help you understand this impact. All that is needed is to fill in the boxes indicated which will automatically calculate any duty increases.
