Who makes their customer happiest?

The Beacon supplier awards are designed to recognise excellence among beacon suppliers in categories that include

Launched in October, the awards are designed to recognise excellence among beacon suppliers in categories that include Most Reliable Supplier, Outstanding Customer Service, and Exceptional Staff Member. The overall beacon Award will recognise the supplier judged as having supported beacon’s business the most in the last year, including its philosophy, brand and customers. An award to recognise green credentials has been co-sponsored by Green Business UK.

Suppliers will be able to nominate themselves for one or more awards. The deadline for supplier entries is on 17th October, although customers are allowed to cast their votes until one month later. Winners will be announced at the Best Western Members Conference on 26th January 2009, and will be able to use the beacon Award Winner logo in all of their advertising and marketing materials.

To judge the beacon Award and beacon Green Tourism Award, beacon has assembled a panel of distinguished industry experts and professionals. These include Jon Proctor, Technical Director of Green Business UK: Simon Numphud, Hotel Services Manager, AA Hotel Services: Lorraine Wood, Director of Arena: David Foad, Editor of Cost Sector Catering and Eat Out Magazine: and Chris Durant, Director of beacon. The awards for Most Reliable Supplier, Outstanding Customer Service and Exceptional Staff Member will be decided by customer votes.

Hazel Tunnicliffe, Marketing Manager of beacon, said, ‘The awards are about highlighting those suppliers whose commitment to service standards have contributed most to customer satisfaction, and to helping make beacon what it is today. In the end, it’s the customer who wins, as companies will be incentivised to compete with the best for future recognition.’
