Beacon the UK’s largest purchasing consortium for the hospitality trade, has appointed a new Director to head up the company.

John Vinuesa will bring a broad range of expertise in strategic sourcing and procurement, trading, and logistics placing him an ideal position to lead the York-based company forward.

John’s experience spans over ten years in senior management and purchasing positions with several household names including Tesco, Asda Walmart, and Woolworths.

His role will be to oversee all aspects of Beacon’s operations, devising and implementing a business plan focussed on member needs and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service as well as maximising opportunities to attract new members.

He commented, “I am looking forward to building on the progress which has already been made as well as bringing a new perspective to Beacon from my experience of customer-led strategies in the retail sector.

“I believe there is great potential for Beacon to grow as a business, however, my initial priority will be to nurture our existing members and ensure our offer reflects exactly what they are looking for in a purchasing partner.”
