Foot and Mouth Update

National ban on the movement of live animals lifted
Following advice from DEFRA and other acclaimed scientific sources, the Government has lifted the recent national ban on the movement of live animals. The only exception to this is the exclusion zone set up in and around the original outbreak. This was effective as of midnight last night.

To this effect, UK suppliers of beef and lamb have started slaughtering livestock this morning and additional fresh stock will be available from our suppliers next week.

Our suppliers do not anticipate any shortages or problems that will affect availability or costs but we will endeavour to keep you informed should this be the case.

Further information is also available on the official DEFRA website
