Energy checklist published for licensees

An energy efficiency checlist ahs been published to help licensees with energy conservation

Available free-of-charge to Hospitable Climates members on, the new Information sheet comprises a checklist of the most cpmmon energy issues that can be encountered on a daily routine inspection rounds.

The check-list headings are: Lighting: Electric Timers and Programmes: Heating, Insualtion and Air-Conditioning: Food Delivery / Storage Areas: In The Kitchen: In The Restaurant: In The Public Areas: Front-Of-House / Office: In The Leisure Centre: Thinking of Maintenance: In The Bedrooms: Guests: and In The Bedrooms: Staff Servicing the Bedrooms.

Professor John Forte, a principal in the Hospitable Climates management team and author of the checklist, said:

"The majority of hospitality managers I meet want to work towards a better and more suistainable environment, but most don`t seem to want to know where to start."

."Our checlist should prompt them to address the most relevant and important issues that they are likely to encounter every working day in their businesses."
