Hot crispy chips back on menu - patients and staff happy

Bradford Teaching Hospital provides a broad range of services and specialises in the treatment of cancer, heart and circulation problems, supporting cochlear implants and children with metabolic problems. Re-gen is used for catering and nutrition is an essential part of patient recovery in all treatment areas.

The hospital catering service is in a transition period and is moving from a traditional kitchen operation to re-gen trolleys. The catering team needed to identify a chip that was suitable for re-gen ovens but was struggling to find a product that met with full approval.

McCain Signatures Traditional chips were tested in the children’s ward and performed well. Michael Ellison, Production Manager, Bradford Royal Infirmary, said:

“It’s surprisingly hard to find a chip that performs well in re-gen ovens but we tried McCain Signatures Traditional Chips and were very happy with them - they do exactly what McCain said they would. Delivering appetising food is crucial for patient recovery, the children love having chips on the menu and we are very happy with them.”
